Maah Daah Hey 100 vs Leadville Trail 100 MTB Races!

With the 2016 MDH100 in the books and LT100 Trail this weekend, I wanted to post a comparison between the two races.  I’ve done Maah Daah Hey 100 twice now in 2014 and 2016 while I’ve done Leadville Trail 100 once in 2015.  I’ve promised some Maah Daah Hey enthusiasts a comparison between the two races for a while, so here it is.  Please note while I do have some facts in here, some of this is my own personal opinion, so take it as you will.  Also note I am not any type of elite rider whatsoever finishing MDH in 14-16 hr range and Leadville in the 11 hr range. I’ve separated scoring into 6 categories, Distance, Vertical Climbing, Elevation, Course, Temperature and Weather.  When one race separates itself from another, I’m adding points in that category for that race, each point representing 10% more difficult. Distance: Total Distance of course LT100 MDH100 103.4 Miles 106.0 Miles Score: +.25 for MDH100 as both ...

Ready for Baby "R"!

With 1 day to go until Baby "R's" due date of March 2nd, the Webb family is ready!!! Or as ready as we can be anyway.  With all of Matt's help and support, our bags are packed for hospital, car seat installed, nursery prepared, clothes washed and put away, bottles washed, and all the other things that come with a baby!  Matt and I are excited, but there is definitely anxiety and nervousness being shared as well. Since we have done so well with our little dog Cosmo over the past 2 years, we are ready for this! Cosmo definitely knows that something is up...I can't wait for him to meet our little man. I'm sure they will become great buds. With Cosmo's playful, submissive, yet protective nature, we know we will be a happy little family. Cosmo has already proved to do well with our newborn nephew Casey with a gentle lick on the head, and with our 2 and 3 year old nieces by playing tag with them and letting them give him hugs. With this exciting journey ahead, w...

Matt's Bike Schedule

Along with looking to raise a new child, I'm going to try to attempt to stay in shape by continuing biking and participating in some racing events.  After having some knee problems, I converted from soccer to hockey and now to biking, specifically MTB Biking.  Inspired by living almost next door to Lebanon Hills MTB trails, this sport has really stuck to me after only 3 seasons.  After building up some great bikes in my stable, a 2013 Niner EMD9 and a Lynskey Titanium Road bike, I'm ready to hit the trails and ride even harder in 2014. April 12th, 2014 Redwing, MN http://ragnarok105.blogspot.com/ . The Ragnarok is limited to 105 riders and is approx a 105 mile course on mostly gravel through the hilly country of Red Wing, Zumbro Falls and Lake City.  This is part of the MN Gravel Grinder Race series races, which are completlely fee, but that means they are also completely unaided.... No help whatsoever, you carry what you need to for the entire race or you stop at...

Halloween 2013

Halloween is well over from the time of this post, but I had to post Connie's frog out fit and my ware wolf outfit.  The frog was eaten this year while the ware wolf was running around with a chainsaw, so only the ware wolf will be back next year.
